Tony Smith, a 6'5 Point Guard, who spent most of his last two years at Seward County Community
College (KS), picked East Carolina University as his final college destination.

Tony Smith is a highly skilled lead guard with great size for position and court savvy. Smith has all
the tools to make an immediate impact in Conference USA. He averaged 14.3 points, 6.5 assists, 5.2
rebounds, and 2.3 steals this past season.

Smith is a Greenville, NC native who attended JH Rose High School before making the trek out to Kansas
for Junior College. Smith picked ECU over a host of high major offers including Baylor, Oklahoma State,
Oklahoma, Georgia State and Western Kentucky.

When asked why he would pick C-USA over a bevy of elite level schools, Tony Responded, "I felt like the
shoe fit, every piece of my heart was in this. I envision a lot of good things happening right away. My mom
and grandma may live 10 or 15 extra years off the joy of seeing me everyday at a high level being successful
on and off the court. I really like the challenge of trying to help coach Lebo and the guys build this thing and
do something special; WIN!
